Aguado on board for 2019/20
Álvaro Aguado returns to the Estadio José Zorrilla, following the end of his loan-spell with Córdoba. The 23-year-old made his way from Córdoba’s B-team to the senior side in 2017 and scored twice in 33 matches before signing with Real Valladolid in January of this year. The attacking midfielder was immediately loaned back to the blanquiverde, his local side, to gain more experience and made eight further appearances in the second tier. Córdoba were subsequently relegated, but the new man cites the struggles he experienced last season as standing him in good stead for the challenges he faces moving up to play in La Liga.
He moves to Pucela for his first taste of football in the top division which, as he stated in a press conference on Thursday, was a level he had long dreamed of playing in.
The Andalusian primarily plays in an attacking midfielder role, but can drop slightly deeper into position to stem the flow of opposition attack when required. It will be this versatility which will help him cement a spot in an already competitive area of the side, thanks to the new additions of Fede San Emetorio in defensive midfield capacity, and on-loan winger Jorge de Frutos who both arrived this week. Add into the mix the high level of play from Rubén Alcaraz and the emergence of Anuar, Aguado will have his work cut out to feature regularly but the young player in undaunted, stating on the club website that he was confident he could earn a place in the side.
