Loan deal agreed for Jorge de Frutos

Real Valladolid have captured the signature of Real Madrid Castilla starlet Jorge de Frutos on a one-year loan deal.

The 22-year-old arrives following a season in the Spanish capital playing in Segunda B where he scored seven goals in 37 appearances, chipping in with five assists. Primarily a right winger, de Frutos can also play on the opposite flank or even at centre forward if need dictates.

Born in Navares de Enmedio in Segovia, approximately 100 kilometres east of his new employers, de Frutos turned out for local youth sides C.D.P. Sepulveda and C.D. Cantalejo between 2013 and 2015. His first senior experience came when he signed for C.D. Marchamalo prior to earning a move to Rayo Majadahonda in 2016. De Frutos bagged 9 goals in that season.

Real Madrid Castilla were sufficiently impressed with de Frutos' ability that they snapped him up for 100,000 Euros last summer. He performed well, but ultimately the side were defeated in the Segunda promotion playoffs against Cartagena.

This move gives de Frutos the opportunity to be involved in top-flight football in Spain for the first time in his career. As yet, his pedigree is untested in the highest division, but Real Valladolid president Ronaldo has put his faith in the youngster by bringing him in and will, no doubt, play some part in de Frutos' tuteledge at the Jose Zorrilla. Speculation suggests that the path between Real Madrid Castilla and Real Valladolid could be a well-worn one this season, with Marca reporting that Javi Sanchez and Cristo are possible names touted to follow de Frutos.
