North America trip underway

Real Valladolid touched down in California on Wednesday to begin their preseason expedition in North America. The team is staying initially at the Fairmont Hotel in San Jose and training at the nearby West Valley College campus before their first encounter of the preseason against MLS side, San Jose Earthquakes on Wednesday 17th July.


Club officials declared some more personnel changes prior to leaving for the United States, announcing the return of goalkeeper José Antonio Caro after his loan spell at Albacete. Defender Moi Delgado heads in the other direction, as he will spend the season on loan at Racing Santander.


Twenty-six players made the journey to the west coast of America and they will be joined soon by Turkish striker, Enes Ünal, who is awaiting visa clearances before he travels.

The players who flew to California are Jordi Masip, José Antonio Caro, Samu Pérez, Javi Moyano, Antoñito, Kiko Olivas, Fernando Calero, Diego Alende, Joaquín Fernández, Federico Barba, Nacho Martínez, Fede San Emetorio, Rubén Alcaraz, Anuar, Kike Pérez, Álvaro Aguado, Míchel, Pablo Hervías, Jorge De Frutos, David Mayoral, Waldo, Toni Villa, Óscar Plano, Chris Ramos, Sergi Guardiola and Sandro Ramírez.


Following the match against the Earthquakes, the team will fly north to Edmonton in Canada to train ahead of their second match of the North America trip, when they tackle Cardiff City, a Welsh team who play in the English Championship following their relegation from the top flight at the end of last season.
