Pucela agree loan for Everton's Sandro Ramírez

In their latest move in the summer transfer window, Real Valladolid have announced the signing of Spanish striker Sandro Ramírez on-loan from Everton.

Born in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Ramírez cut his teeth in the F.C. Barcelona youth system at under-17, under-18 and under-19 levels before moving up to the B team in season 2013/14. He scored 15 goals in 61 matches. He earned a promotion to the first team a season later, but found his playing time greatly curtailed. After bagging two goals in 17 appearances for Barça, he was picked up by Málaga the following year on a free transfer. This proved to be a successful move for the 23-year-old who notched an impressive 14 goals in 30 games.

Ramírez was signed by Everton in the English Premier League for six million Euros at the start of season 2017/18, but failed to make an impact and was loaned out to Sevilla later that term after competing just eight times in the blue jersey with no scoring return. His tally did not improve in Andalucía, going goalless with less than 15 matches to his name.

He spent the entirety of the last campaign on-loan at Real Sociedad helping them to a ninth-placed finish while turning out 24 times but – again – he did not score. He was in the starting line-up for both matches against Real Valladolid; he played 45 minutes in the 2-1 home loss in December 2018 and was replaced after an hour when La Real earned a 1-1 draw at the José Zorrilla in March.

The striker has represented his country at under-16, under-17, under-18, under-19 and under-21 levels, amassing 20 goals in 26 matches for the young Furia Roja. His one-year loan deal with Pucela will see him return to England in June 2020.
